da pinnacle: According to Don Balon, Gareth Bale has advised Real Madrid to make a move for Tottenham Hotspur attacker Dele Alli at the end of the season.
What’s the story?
da apostaganha: Alli has struggled for consistency in recent months, but the England international has still scored nine times in 30 appearances for Tottenham this season.
The attacker also has 11 assists in all competitions, and it is understood that his performances against Real Madrid in the group stage of this season’s Champions League really caught the eye of the European champions.
Los Blancos are said to have a long-standing interest in Tottenham forward Harry Kane, but according to Don Balon, Bale has told Real Madrid to raid his former club for Alli.
The report claims that the Welshman is a huge fan of Alli, and believes that the 21-year-old could play as either a central midfielder or a forward in Real Madrid’s 4-3-3 formation.
Can Tottenham keep Alli?
Alli, who is valued at £72m by transfermarkt.co.uk, has a contract with Tottenham until the summer of 2022.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has continually insisted that the club’s key players – including Alli and Kane – will not be sold at the end of the season.
Another trophyless season would make it difficult for Tottenham, however, and Alli will be aware that he could more than double his salary with a move to Real Madrid.
Not many players turn down a move to the Spanish capital, and the chance to play alongside the likes of Bale at the Bernabeu would surely appeal to the England international.
Alli is in debt to Tottenham – the club that handed him his big chance in the Premier League – but if Real Madrid come calling with a big offer at the end of the season, it is very difficult to see the move not occurring.
