da pinup bet: Manchester United are targeting a triple swoop for Tottenham Hotspur stars Danny Rose, Kyle Walker and Eric Dier, according to the Daily Star.
What’s the story?
da fezbet: United are never short of cash when the transfer window rolls around, and considering that Jose Mourinho’s side could finish outside the top five in the Premier League this season, the club are likely to spend this summer.
The Daily Star claims that the manager has listed Tottenham trio Rose, Walker and Dier as top priorities.
However, the report claims that Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is also interested in clinching the signatures of Rose and Walker.
It is believed that the full-backs are rated at £30m and £40m respectively, while Dier could cost another £40m, which means that United could potentially hand over £110m to their North London rivals.
Are these deals realistic?
Everyone within football knows that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is a shrewd negotiator, and he will not want to allow three first-team players to join a Premier League opponent.
If any of the three do leave, it is likely to be Walker given that he has dropped to second fiddle in a handful of important games this season.
The England international was left out of the starting lineup for the FA Cup semi-final defeat to Chelsea, as well as their 2-0 win over arch rivals Arsenal.
On top of that, Kieran Trippier was preferred by manager Mauricio Pochettino for Sunday’s 2-1 triumph over Manchester United, which marked the final ever game at White Hart Lane.
A report in The Telegraph last month claimed that Walker will reassess his future when the season comes to an end, suggesting that he is not entirely happy with his current situation.
Make no mistake, though, if clubs do come calling for Tottenham’s first-team players, Levy will not make it easy for the suitors.
