da realbet: Alan Pardew boss has added three left backs to his shopping list as he continues his hunt for Jose Enrique’s replacement the Metro reports.
da apostebet: The Magpies boss is desperate to bring a new left to St James’ Park before the transfer window closes next week.
Pardew has earmarked Nicky Shorey, Cheikh M’Bengue and Aly Cissokho after discussions with his number one target Erik Pieters stalled.
A £6 million move has been in the pipeline for two weeks but talks have now hit an impasse despite PSV star Pieters declaring his intention to move to Tyneside.
The delay has prompted Pardew to move onto other targets and could now pursue one of Shorey, M’Bengue and Cissokho.
Ryan Taylor has filled in at left back so far this season and scored the winner against local rivals Sunderland at the weekend.
Pardew has insisted Taylor will continue in the position but is likely to be ousted once a specialist is signed.
The Newcastle boss said: “We are trying to bring in another left-back, but he will have to be a good one to take Ryan out of the team.”
Work behind the scenes is still ongoing and with Pieters remaining the main priority. If a move for him doesn’t materialise then Pardew will have to move quickly to secure his one of his other targets
