da winzada777: West Ham United starlet Toni Martinez looks to have aimed a sly dig at former manager Slaven Bilic with his latest Twitter post.
The 20-year-old tweeted from his official account that he was “HAPPY TO BE BACK” after being given an opportunity to impress in first-team training by new boss David Moyes in the Scot’s first day at the helm.
The former Everton, Manchester United and Sunderland chief was named as Bilic’s successor on Tuesday after the Croatian had been sacked on Monday with the club in the relegation zone having been beaten 4-1 by Liverpool at the London Stadium at the weekend.
It was a decision that probably would have been welcomed by Martinez considering the young Spaniard has been in fine form for the U23 side this term – scoring 11 goals in 10 games – but was ignored by Bilic even though other youngsters like Declan Rice had been given a chance.
Despite his impressive record in front of goal he was never named in any of the first-team squads even when the east London outfit came up against lower league opposition in the Carabao Cup, or when Diafra Sakho and Andy Carroll were both missing for the 3-0 defeat against Brighton and Hove Albion last month.
The 20-year-old will be looking to impress Moyes now in order to try and take his place in the 18 when the Irons face Watford at Vicarage Road a week on Sunday.
